Maruti Ertiga 2018 review

Things We Like in Ertiga 2018

  • The 2018 Maruti Ertiga is a completely new car, no body panels have been borrowed from the existing MPV
  • With the Toyota Innova Crysta having moved higher in terms of features and prices, the new Ertiga is likely to slot into the budget MPV space
  • Lighter Heartect platform is likely to boost mileage and performance of the Maruti Ertiga 2018
  • Increased dimensions of the 2018 Maruti Ertiga are likely to translate into better interior space for second and third row occupants

Things We Don't Like in Ertiga 2018

  • No leather seats, even in the top-end variant of the 2018 Maruti Ertiga
  • Middle row seats do not tumble forward for easy third row access
  • Second-row passengers don’t get a foldable armrest in the new Maruti Ertiga

Stand Out Features

  • Leather-wrapped steering wheel with faux wood inserts feels better to hold than the older model

CarDekho Verdict

This is the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga’s first major update since its debut in India back in 2012. The new Ertiga has ditched its subtle, understated looks for a more aggressive one. In fact, with lots of cuts, crease and muscular bulges, the 2018 Ertiga looks more like an SUV now than an MPV.

Inspired by the Toyota Innova Crysta, Maruti Suzuki has decided to go all-out with sharper looks, spacious cabin and contemporary features like LED projector headlamps and LED tail lamps.

"If you are looking for a complete family car, the 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga should suffice your needs."

It will also give you the peace of mind that comes with owning a Maruti, thanks to its wide and affordable service network.

We expect the prices of the 2018 Maruti Ertiga to command a premium of Rs 30,000 - Rs 40,000 over the current prices of the Ertiga (Rs 6.58 - 10.75 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi) when it is launched in India sometime around August 2018.
