Jeep is expected to launch the new fourth-gen Wrangler (JL series) in the country soon, probably around the upcoming festive season. The Wrangler made its global debut at the 2017 LA Motor Show in November last year and is already on sale in the USA. In Europe, it will go on sale around September 2018, while it went on sale in China and Russia from July 2018. Being a CBU, as before, the Wrangler will soon be introduced in India. The new Jeep Wrangler comes with significant upgrades to its equipment list as well as powertrain options. The India-spec Wrangler is expected to come with a new 2.2-litre diesel and a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, both mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Check out the new Wrangler in detail here.

Sedans to SUVs, what will be the new options for car buyers by the end of August? We find out
The most distinctive Jeep is finally coming to India in its latest avatar
The much awaited all-new JL series Wrangler is soon expected to hit Jeep showrooms!
The Wrangler, which was tested, was equipped with dual front airbags, side head airbag, side chest airbag and ISOFIX child seat anchors
The Wrangler, the SUV that most off-road enthusiasts have been waiting for, seems overpriced at Rs 71 lakh. However, Jeep is likely to start assembling the Wrangler in the country from next year which should bring down the price significantly.
wrangler is not worth 72 lacs !
The prices are something we didn't expect at all. Given that all Jeep models are imported as CBU (completely built units), there is a tax of 120%, but still, it is overpriced! Jeep says they will start assembling (CKD products only attracts 60% import tax) these products rom 2017, expect the prices to drop by a considerable margin then.

I consider JEEP as an icon in the off road segment. But sorry to say that keeping aside many of its present day flaws or inefficiency in design and manufacturing, (take the example of the Jeep wrangler) the vehicle as such is NOT WORTH PAYING RS. 75 lacs in terms of Indian currency. The same vehicle is available in the tax free market in the Middle East in the price range of 17-20 lacs for the the very high end models. One can just imagine the disparity in pricing any auto enthusiast has to shell out just for possessing the 'JEEP' name!! The mistake with the manufacturer is the late entry into the Indian market. Unless the models under this brand are manufactured within India (instead of the direct import and KDK arrangements, this is not worth the present price structure unless and until you have plenty of that stacked up somewhere
Jeep brands always remained a petrol version world wide. The latest try by the FIAT company who owns JEEP brand has comeout with the diesel engine carved out of their experience in the diesel engine. As a motor enthusiast, I can never think of a JEEP Wrangler or cherokee ROAR with a diesel engine. The negative part is that since the new JEEP diesel engines are not tested for long in the JEEP, the new models that are sold in the Indian market constitute ''Test vehicles" for the company (without the knowledge of the buyer) for the next few years. Jeep is a daily usable vehicle unlike the wrong belief of many that it is good for off road only. With high pricing as at present and unproven diesel engines, one has to see how efficeint and worth the vehicle will be in the Indian regular roads which are mostly as good as off roads.

30 lac was the estimate and it is launched at almost 72 lac.I don't think this jeep wrangler unlimited worth it.Its a flop show in India for this company.
