I have 7 cars including XUV 500, Fortuner, Audi A6 but Safari is the best... Just take manual maintenance contract from dealer at the time of purchase and you dont have to pay at the time of service this facility is only provided by tata motors... Not any other brand provides this facility. ... 0

It was the time to update the car in our garage. Me and my dad was searching for a big-sized SUV which would fit into our budget and for that, we shortlisted two cars - Mahindra XUV500 and Tata Safari Storme. Though both are seven-seaters, the Tata Safari Storme impressed me for all the good reasons. I bought the new Storme that features the same conventional styling, well equipped inside with fantastic engine that delivers power in an impressive way. Tata introduced Safari Storme in 2012 and wa... 14

Tata Safari Storme review

Things We Like in Safari Storme

  • Generous amount of space for occupants in the first and second row
  • 200mm of ground clearance, shift-on-the-fly 4x4 means you can take it off-road
  • Brilliant ride quality demolishes potholes and broken roads

Things We Don't Like in Safari Storme

  • No automatic transmission variant on offer
  • Misses out on now-common features such as automatic climate control, a touchscreen infotainment system, multi-information display, etc
  • Cramped third row of seats best left to kids or shorter adults.

Stand Out Features

  • Road presence is practically unmatched. People make way for the Safari!

CarDekho Verdict

Tata’s workhorse is beginning to show its age. Yes, it does offer a healthy blend of performance, space and off-road ability. But, it also misses out on a lot of creature comforts.

"It misses out on a lot of creature comforts"

That said, there are better-specced alternatives, such as the Mahindra Scorpio or even compact SUVs such as the Renault Duster and the Hyundai Creta that are priced on par. Reasons to buy the Safari Storme includes its go-anywhere nature, its ability to command respect and its cult status among auto enthusiasts.

2015 Tata Safari is Torquier than SUVs Twice its Price!

This might be sounding like a positive PR for the SUV, but it isn’t! In fact, Tata with the new Varicor 400 in the Safari Storme facelift has raised the game. The SUVs mentioned above are not even in Safari’s segment and costs twice than what Tata is charging for the Varicor 400 variant - Rs. 13.52 Lacs but still getting compared with it. This motor debuted with the Hexa concept at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show and production spec Hexa will borrow this same engine, and it is expected at the upcoming 2016 India Auto Expo. Read Full News
