I brought Maruthi Omni 8 seater in the year 2006 in Bangalore. That time I was living together with my wife 3 children and Mother and Father consisting of 7 members. A wise decision made by me ended up Happy journey of life with that car. My Father is passed away in the year 2010, but the memory of going out with him for long and short drives are all ever fresh. The life is short but Making it Memorable is the motto. Now I am purchasing a good SUV. Because of it, many people are approaching to s... 5

This car has performed the roles of a people-mover, courier-delivery vehicle, ambulance and a host of others! The Omni is basic, large-family transport at its cheapest best. Having been around since my childhood days, Maruti has regularly updated the Omni but the age is quite evident. The last major facelift was in 1997, that's more than a decade ago! ... 4

Maruti Omni review

Things We Like in Omni

  • The 0.8-litre engine is known to be frugal and reliable.
  • Space. Available as a 5- or 8-seater there’s enough room for the family and their luggage.
  • Easy to drive inside the city, easy to park as well.

Things We Don't Like in Omni

  • Creature comforts are missing - no power windows, or even air-conditioning.
  • Exterior build quality is strictly average.
  • No safety features offered at all.

Stand Out Features

  • Price. It is the most affordable 8-seater on sale in India today.

CarDekho Verdict

If you need nothing more than a point-A to point-B commuter at an absolute budget, the little Maruti doesn’t disappoint. Bear in mind the Omni is no highway hero, it is best left within the confines of the city. The lack of safety features and creature comforts are big omissions. In case you do not need the extra seat space, we recommend you look at entry-level hatchbacks such as the Maruti Alto 800 or the Renault Kwid.

"That said, for the price, the Maruti Suzuki Omni comes across as a no-nonsense reliable workhorse."

Maruti Omni in news

Petrol prices slashed by 65 paise

Petrol prices have been slashed yet again by 65 paise. The good news is passed down by the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) after state-owned oil companies kept to their promise to share their baseline profits with the public. It is basically the combined effect of the crude oil price put together with the rupee exchange value. The crude oil price per barrel in Singapore presently stands at $107.00 a substantial decrease from $115.85 earlier. The chunk of profit here is unfortunately taken away partially by the rupee value which stands at 52.20 against a dollar as of yesterday. Read Full News
