  • Tata Hexa Front Left Side
Launched in early 2017, the Hexa is a premium SUV from Tata. While it may remind you of Tata Aria that was discontinued due to poor sales, the Hexa is backed up by great design features both on the outside as well as the inside.
Don't miss out on the festive offers this August
  • Tata Hexa Side View (Left)
    Tata Hexa Front View
From the front, the Hexa looks quite imposing thanks to its flat bonnet and slightly wider body than its competitors. The blacked out grille and large air dam enhance the menacing stance further. Also, the slight and subtle hump along the centre of the bonnet along with the ‘Chrome Humanity Line’ that runs under the honeycomb grille gives it a boxy appeal.
    Tata Hexa DashBoard
The Tata Hexa blows you with the sheer amount of space inside. The driver’s seat offers a healthy view of the road ahead, thanks to the use of a massive front windshield. Moreover, the all-black theme of the cabin will ensure it ages well and does not get dirty over the years.
    Tata Hexa Steering Wheel
The steering wheel is covered with smooth leather that feels premium to touch and hold. However, only the XT variants get the leather wrapping. However, a glaring omission is the lack of adjustability for steering reach even on the top-spec XT variant.
  • Tata Hexa Steering Controls
The stereo system is a pleasure to use, and you can skip tracks without lifting your hand from the steering. The media source, volume up and down and call reject buttons are on the left spoke of the steering wheel. A nifty call mute button (which is very rarely seen on other cars) adds extra convenience.
  • Tata Hexa Configuration Selector Knob
The Tata Hexa has cruise control, voice command and call accept buttons mounted on the right stalk of the steering wheel, enhancing driver comfort and improving safety while driving. However, only the XT variants get cruise control.
  • Tata Hexa Top View
At 4788mm, it is longer than the Mahindra XUV500 and Toyota Innova Crysta. However, you don’t get a sunroof, which could be a deterrent for some, especially since it is offered in some variants of the Mahindra XUV500.
  • Tata Hexa Grille
The front grille with geometric detailing and ‘Chrome Humanity Line’ gives it a butch look. Also, the dual tone bumpers along with large air dam add to the off-road-ready look of the car. However, the Chrome Humanity Line is not available on the XE variant.
  • Tata Hexa Front Fog Lamp
As you can see here, Tata Hexa breaks conventions by placing the LED daytime running lights (DRLs) right above the fog lamps. The black bezel with the hexagonal pattern that sits right above the DRLs matches well with the black cladding of the bumper, adding to the visual appeal. The fog lamps and DRLs are only available in the XT, XTA, and XT 4X4 variants.
  • Tata Hexa Headlight
Little details like the glossy black accent piece on the smoked out projector headlamps are what differentiate the Hexa from its closest competitors, the Innova Crysta and Mahindra XUV500.
  • Tata Hexa Taillight
The Christmas tree-style tail lamps of the Tata Aria have been given the boot for stubby, horizontal, wraparound LED tail lamps in the Tata Hexa. The chrome tailgate applique seen here is only available on the XT variant. Other variants get ebony black (XE Variants) and piano black (XM Variants) tailgate appliques.
  • Tata Hexa Instrument Cluster
Behind the steering wheel is a pair of analogue dials – a speedometer and a tachometer with a crisp LCD screen that acts as the multi information display in the middle. The display is backlit in classic fonts and is surrounded by a smoke chrome border.
  • Tata Hexa Side Mirror (Body)
  • Tata Hexa Door Handle
The body-coloured door handles along with chrome inserts seen here are only available in the XT, XTA, and XT 4X4 variants. The XM variants gets body-coloured door handles, while the XE makes do with the black door handles.
  • Tata Hexa Gear Shifter
Tata Hexa comes with an automatic gearbox in two variants: XMA and XTA. The gearbox could have been slicker and the gear lever does not look as premium as its competitors’. Moreover, some would find the gear shifter a bit out of reach.
  • Tata Hexa Headlamp Beam Switches
The stalks are made of high-quality plastics with barely any visible mold lines. The light stalk can also be used to browse through the various functions of the MID. The Tata Hexa comes with rain-sensing wipers, albeit in the XT variants. Additionally, the front headlamps switch on and off automatically by sensing the exterior lighting conditions.
  • Tata Hexa Wheel
The top-end XT variants of Tata Hexa comes with 19-inch machined alloy wheels that sport a clean five-spoke design. It complements the aggressive image of the car. Lower variants get 16-inch steel pressed rims.
  • Tata Hexa Door Controls
Window and ORVM controls are on the interior door panel on the driver’s side. The buttons are backlit and all windows have a one-touch down functionality on the driver’s side. Unlike the rest of the cabin, which looks premium with faux leather, the door console seem a bit plasticky.
  • Tata Hexa Seat Belt
The seats are well designed and feel premium thanks to the good grain of leather on top. The only minor discomfort you may experience is that the front driver and co-driver seats lack shoulder support and the padding feels a bit hard.
  • Tata Hexa Perspective View( Doors Open)
  • Tata Hexa Key
The Tata Hexa lacks keyless smart entry, which is present in both of its direct competitors - the Innova Crysta and XUV500. What you do get is a key that comes with a follow-me-home approach light button, which illuminates the pathway around the vehicle, helping it easier to locate the SUV in dark parking spots.
  • Tata Hexa Exterior Image
  • Tata Hexa Door view of Driver seat
The front seatbacks feel a bit narrow. While this isn’t an issue if you have an average build, people with muscular build will miss the support around the back and the shoulder. Unlike the Mahindra XUV500, the Tata Hexa doesn’t have an electrically adjustable driver’s seat too.
  • Tata Hexa Model and Badging
At first glance, the Tata Hexa may look just like an Aria with a few cosmetic changes. However, it runs deeper than just a few body panel, making the Hexa a brand in its own right.
  • Tata Hexa Rear Right Side
The rear has two large horizontal wraparound LED tail lamps with first-in-India patented flexible lighting. Just like the front bumper, the rear too features a grey scuff plate flanked by two trapezoidal exhaust outlets, giving the SUV muscular look.
  • Tata Hexa Front Right View
The muscular front bumper adds to the image of power and strength of the SUV. The accentuated chrome line and the hexagonal black grille make the overall design more desirable and aggressive. Also, the wide 19-inch alloy wheels (only available in the XT variants) give the SUV a planted look.
  • Tata Hexa Pedals
The dead pedal in the automatic variants is wide and offer good grip. However, the manual variants don’t get a dead pedal to rest your left foot.
  • Tata Hexa Rear View Mirror/Courtesy Lamps
The interior rearview mirror (IRVM) is quite wide and offers good view. But, it lacks auto-dimming feature.
  • Tata Hexa Reading Lamps
The roof console has two bright, white spotlights or reading lamps. The material used here looks rather cheap and does not match up to the price point of the Hexa.
  • Tata Hexa Rear/Side Curtains
The second-row windows come with retractable sunblinds. This is a great feature to have, especially when sun films are banned in the country. It’s pretty smooth and easy to operate, and Tata has sourced these from a Korean company that supplies them to other premium brands like Jaguar. One minor grouse is that the hooks could have been less prominent or smaller.
  • Tata Hexa Rear Seats
The wide gap between the seat and the B-pillar means it’s quite easy to move your legs in and out. The Hexa is offered with a six- or seven-seat configuration. The seven-seat layout has a bench for the second row, instead of captain seats. Leg room is quite generous in the second row and is comfortable even on long journeys.
  • Tata Hexa Front Air Vents
The middle air vents sit right above the stereo/display. However, this puts the screen outside of the normal viewing angle. Moreover, the air vents look blunt and lack the richness offered by others in the segment.
  • Tata Hexa Upholstery Details
The Benecke-Kaliko leather-like upholstery gives a premium edge to the cabin. All seats are wrapped with the same material. Additionally, the chunky armrest in the front row, the door pads and the gear base are also finished with this leather wrap, making the cabin feel posh and nice to touch.
  • Tata Hexa Rear Air vents
The AC vents for the rear rows come with a common air volume control knob but individual direction adjusters. The stand-out feature here is that rear passengers get access to a USB fast-charging port for mobiles as well as a 12V power socket.
  • Tata Hexa LED Blinker on OVRM
The electric ORVMs are fitted with blinking LED lights that eliminate blind spots during turns and enhance overall safety. Sadly, the turn indicators on the ORVMs are only available in the XT, XTA, and XT 4x4 variants.
